I would like to first say sorry for being a bit absent in recent weeks. As you all know, life can sometimes get a bit crazy and time does fly. We will make sure to be a bit more consistent with our finding, musings, recipes and suggestions.
Today we decided to try our hand at pizza making. A few years ago I tried and failed miserably at making pizza. I was ashamed and decided that I was not going to ever open my own pizza B&B. I still probably will not but I did find a great recipe that I had to try. Without further ado…
I am going to break this down into a few steps to make this as simple as possible. I cooked the crust for about 15 minutes to make sure that it was solid and didn’t break down or stay soggy when I put any sauce or ingredients on it. I also used a cast iron skillet with parchment paper to make sure the crust didn’t stick on it. Next time I will try to oil the pan but to avoid any mishaps I went for parchment paper. Preheat your oven to 425. On to the crust!
2/3 Cup of Arrowroot flour
1/4 Cup of coconut flour plus 2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon of cream of tartar
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
2 Tablespoons of Olive oil
1/2 cup of warm water
Mix all the dry ingredients then drizzle the olive oil into it, then mix in the water. The mixture will be a bit on the dryer side but touching it you will feel it come together. Place it into your greased pan, cookie sheet or cast iron skillet lined with parchment paper, (your choice!) then place another sheet of parchment paper on top to form it into a pizza like shape. Next, put it in the oven for about 10-20 minutes depending on how reliable your oven is. Our oven cooks very slow, I left it in for about 20 minutes. When it seems to have firmed up pull it out of the oven and top it with the toppings!

Chicken I pre-cooked with salt, pepper and thyme
Some mixed greens
Place pizza back in the oven for about 10 minutes, pull out and enjoy! I hope this recipe works and tastes as good as it did for us.
